Delhi Under red alert for rain. Air India, SpiceJet, Indigo advise passengers.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for rainfall in Delhi. According to the Met Department, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to continue in Delhi throughout the day.

Following this, airlines including Air India, Spicejet and Indigo have issued travel advisories for the convenience of the passengers. In a social media post, Air India said that rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi today and asked the passengers to check their flight status on the website before heading to the airport.

SpiceJet added that due to bad weather in Delhi, all departures and arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. The airline requested the passengers to keep a check on their flight status. IndiGo also suggested that commuters check their flight status and advised them to set out early.

With rain expected to continue over Delhi and the national capital region, several airlines have yet again issued a warning on Tuesday. Taking to X, airlines such as SpiceJet and Air India have issued travel advisories for passengers and warned of flight delays.

“Persistent rain may affect flight operations to and from Delhi today. Please check your flight status before leaving, and allow extra travel time to the airport,” stated Air India.
