IMD predicts heavy rain in Andaman and Nicobar. Delhi air quality remains ‘Very Poor.’

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunder squalls over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.

Parts of Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are also expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall during the day. According to the weather agency, dense fog conditions are also likely today over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. 

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to remain in very poor quality. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the region was recorded at 338 as of 6 AM this morning.

In view of the deteriorating air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
