Snowfall, rain bring down temperatures in Kashmir.

Fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Kashmir and rain in the plains of the valley have led to a drop in temperatures today.

The Meteorological Department said, snowfall was reported in the Tulail area of Gurez valley in Bandipora district, on both sides of Zojila Pass in the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district, and along the Mughal Road connecting Shopian to the Poonch-Rajouri region.

The plains witnessed light to moderate rainfall in the early hours, with weather expected to improve later in the day. Several key routes, including the Srinagar-Kargil road and the Bandipora-Gurez road, have been closed due to snowfall.

According to reports, snow was recorded in the Tulail area of Gurez Valley in Bandipora district, on both sides of Zojila Pass in the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district, and along the Mughal Road connecting Shopian with the Poonch-Rajouri region.

The plains witnessed light to moderate rainfall during the early hours of the day. A Meteorological Department official said the weather is likely to improve later in the day.
