Dawa Sherpa, who had gone missing for five days while scaling Sagarmatha, was rescued safely on Thursday.
His rescue is considered a miracle when he survived in the death zone for five days. Sherpa was a member of the expedition, serving as a support worker.
He had been missing since May 30, but was spotted alive today and evacuated to Kathmandu. A person from the Everest Pollution Control Committee found the missing Sherpa at Crampon Point close to the Everest Base Camp.
The Committee’s staff carried Sherpa from Crampon Point to Gorakshep, from where he was airlifted to Kathmandu. He had frostbite and is currently receiving medical treatment at HAMS Hospital.
