Wishes are pouring in from across the world as PM Narendra Modi has become India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that India under Mr. Modi’s leadership has landed on the moon and is shooting for the stars.
She also thanked PM Modi for his efforts to strengthen cooperation between India and the European Union. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed readiness to work with Prime Minister Modi in creating new opportunities for the people of the two nations.
Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides said, this milestone showcases Prime Minister Modi’s years of dedicated service and leadership. He expressed commitment to further strengthening ties between India and Cyprus. Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen congratulated Mr. Modi and expressed readiness to continue working with him to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Extending his wishes, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung stated that PM Modi has guided India’s economic and developmental progress over the years and played a key role in elevating India’s global stature.
Australia’s former PM Tony Abbott said that India under PM Modi-led government has improved in infrastructure, IT, power and sanitation. Australia’s former PM Scott Morrison also hailed PM Modi’s leadership, calling him a true statesman who has transformed India’s economy and standing in the world.
President of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Disanayaka, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar also hailed PM Modi’s transformative governance, his advocacy for the Global South, and his vision of an inclusive and economically dynamic India.
Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Caucino, stated that India under Mr. Modi’s leadership has achieved remarkable success in the modernisation of economy.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay said that the historic milestone was an opportunity to recognise not only the length of Prime Minister Modi’s tenure but also the impact of his service. President of Nepal’s ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, extended his wishes, calling the milestone a remarkable feat.
Prime Minister Modi today became India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, marking 12 years at the helm of the Central government. He crossed former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s record with 4,399 days in office as an elected Prime Minister.
