US President Trump says Iran deal to be signed today. Strait of Hormuz to be opened.

US President Donald Trump has said a deal aimed at ending the conflict with Iran is scheduled to be signed today, adding that the strategic Strait of Hormuz would be open to all immediately afterwards. His comments came hours after Pakistan indicated that the United States and Iran were in the final stage of negotiations and that an electronic signing ceremony was expected to take place today.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the agreement would mark a major step forward, claiming that Iran no longer wants a Nuclear Weapon and suggesting that the United States would work with Tehran to remove enriched uranium at an appropriate time. He also said relations between the two countries would become different and better if the process moved ahead smoothly.

However, there has been no immediate confirmation from Iran on the reported timeline. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei reportedly denied that a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington would be signed today, citing what he described as the other side’s hesitation.

Baqaei also stressed that any such memorandum would only provide a framework for further discussions and should not be viewed as a final agreement.

Meanwhile, protesters gathered in several Iranian cities yesterday to oppose a proposed peace agreement between Iran and the United States. The demonstrations were largely directed at Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with critics accusing them of making excessive concessions during negotiations with Washington.

According to reports, dozens of protesters assembled outside a Foreign Ministry office in Mashhad shortly after Araghchi discussed the proposed agreement in a televised interview. Similar demonstrations were also reported in Tehran and other parts of the country, reflecting growing opposition among hardline groups to the ongoing diplomatic efforts.
