With less than 24 hours to go for the International Day of Yoga 2026, anticipation is building across the United Arab Emirates, as diplomatic missions and community groups host a series of pre-event yoga sessions.
In Al Ain, early morning yoga and meditation were held atop Jebel Hafeet, led by the Ambassador of India to the UAE, Dr. Deepak Mittal, and organised by the Indian Social Centre Al Ain. Participants practised yoga against the mountain backdrop, focusing on harmony, health, and holistic well-being.
In Dubai, a special session dedicated to women’s health and empowerment was organised by the Consulate General of India in Dubai in collaboration with community leader Mrs. Bubbles Kandhari at the Emirates Golf Club.
Led by Consul Ms. Ankita Wakekar, the session brought together women and girls of all ages, reflecting the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and emphasising strength, balance, and lifelong wellness.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India in Dubai, along with the Dubai Police Positive Spirit Council, will host a large-scale public yoga session at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club tomorrow from 5:30 to 6:30 in the morning.
In Abu Dhabi, the Embassy of India is inviting participants to a guided yoga session from 8 to 9 am at the iconic dome of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Together, these events reflect growing enthusiasm for yoga across the UAE, with thousands expected to join the main International Day of Yoga celebrations tomorrow.
