Several Indian diplomats mark Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary by paying floral tributes.

Several Indian diplomatic missions across the world today marked Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary by paying floral tributes and recalling his timeless ideals of truth, non-violence and peace.

Marking Gandhi Jayanti and the International Day of Non-Violence, the Indian High Commission in Australia offered a floral tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue at Glebe Park in Canberra.

Additionally, Indian Ambassador to Japan Nagma Mallick, along with Edogawa Ward officials and members of the Indian community, laid flowers at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Tokyo, while reflecting on his life and achievements.

In New Zealand, Indian High Commissioner Muanpuii Saiawi, along with other dignitaries, paid tribute to Gandhi, reflecting on his life, teachings and their relevance in today’s world.

Furthermore, in Cambodia, Indian Ambassador Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, along with Embassy officials and members of the Indian diaspora, paid floral tributes at Gandhi’s bust, honouring his timeless ideals of peace, truth and non-violence.

Meanwhile, Norwegian Ambassador to India May-Elin Stener recalled her visit to Sabarmati Ashram and highlighted the enduring relevance of Gandhi’s message.

In a social media post, Stener said that Gandhiji’s message continues to inspire people even today.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, today extended his warm greetings to everyone on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

He said that former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.”

In today’s era, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.” He further said that Mahatma Gandhi’s message of non-violence is particularly important today.

Violence has increased across the world, and in such circumstances, Gandhiji’s message of non-violence and brotherhood becomes even more relevant.

He said that even after so many years, Mahatma Gandhi remains loved by people across the world because his message will always remain relevant to humanity.

He prayed that Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of Ram Rajya may be established not only in Hindustan but across the entire world.
