US President says US to end annual 4-billion-dollar aid to Israel after 2026.

US President Donald Trump has said that Washington will stop providing its annual 4 billion dollars in aid to Israel after the end of 2026, following an agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In an interview, Trump said Netanyahu had agreed to end the financial assistance, although the US would continue to help Israel if needed.

It was not immediately clear what form of aid Trump was referring to. Neither Netanyahu’s office nor Israel’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the reported agreement.

Trump cited criticism from Democrats, including Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, over US support for Israel as a reason for ending the annual funding.

However, analysts said that ending military assistance could take longer than Trump’s proposed timeline, given the ongoing joint weapons and defence programmes. Thomas Warrick of the Atlantic Council said US military aid was unlikely to end by December 2026 and could instead be phased out during 2027.
