12 Wagons of Goods Train Derail Between Vrindawan and Aajhai on Agra Delhi Route, near Mathura.

12 wagons of a goods train derailed on the Agra- Delhi route yesterday evening, affecting the movement of trains.

An accident happened between Vrindawan and Aajhai railway stations in Jaint area of Mathura. Railway officials said that some trains have been diverted due to the accident, and restoration work on the track is continuing.

However, no one was injured in the incident that was reported between Vrindavan Road station and Ajhai station, which comes under the Mathura-Palwal section of Agra Rail Division, at 8:24 PM, they said.

“As per preliminary information, 12 wagons are derailed, which have obstructed the down main line, UP main line and third line. There is no report of any injury to any of the train’s crew,” an official said.

“These obstructions will severely impact train movements on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Kota route,” he said.

Railway officials confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident; however, some trains, including Khujraho-Nizamuddin Vande Bharat and Rani Kamlapati-New Delhi Shatabdi Express trains, were affected, among others.

According to Agra Division PRO Prashasti Srivastava, the incident occurred between Vrindavan Road station and Ajhai station, which comes under the Mathura-Palwal section of Agra Rail Division, at 8:30 pm.

Srivastava said, “Initially, both Delhi-Jhansi and Jhansi-Delhi tracks were affected by this incident. But now the train towards Delhi has started, the Jhansi one is still not operational. Our teams are at the site.”

Meanwhile, SHO GRP Mathura Junction Yadram Singh confirmed ToI that no casualties have been reported and “on board crew is safe”.
