Cyclonic Storm Montha Weakens into Deep Depression over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The India Meteorological Department IMD has said that Cyclonic Storm Montha has weakened into a Deep Depression over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana.

It said, the Cyclonic Storm over coastal Andhra Pradesh moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kilometres per hour during past six hours.

It weakened into a Deep Depression and lay centered over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana about 50  kilometres south-southeast of Bhadrachalam in Telangana, 110  kilometres east of Khammam in Telangana, 130  kilometres south-southwest of Malkangiri in Odisha and 220  kilometres south-southwest of Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh.

IMD said it is likely to move north-northwestwards across Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana and south Chhattisgarh and weaken into a depression during the next six hours.

The Weatherman said, depression over east-central Arabian Sea remained practically stationary during the past three hours and lay centred over the same region about 410 kilometres west-southwest of Mumbai in Maharashtra.

It is also at 430 kilometres southwest of Veraval in Gujarat, 560  kilometres west-northwest of Panjim in Goa, 820 kilometres northwest of Mangalore in Karnataka, 850 kilometres north-northwest of Aminidivi in Lakshadweep.

IMD said it is likely to move northeastwards across the East Central Arabian Sea during the next 36 hours.
