The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that night temperatures are likely to dip by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius over northwest and adjoining central India during the next five to six days.
The IMD has also predicted a fall in minimum temperatures by about 2 degrees Celsius over many parts of Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh till Monday.
Some parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are expected to experience cold wave conditions till tomorrow. The weather agency has also predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today.
Meanwhile, the air quality in the Delhi-NCR region continues to be in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the region was recorded at 381 as of 8 am today.
Among all, Bawana reported an AQI of 436, which is the highest in the region, followed by Rohini at 435. Other areas such as Wazirpur, Jahangirpuri, and Burari Crossing also reported AQI levels above 430. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 412, ITO 420, and Okhla Phase-2, 405, all falling under the severe category.
