Indonesia states readiness of 8,000 troops for deployment to Gaza under US President Trump’s reconstruction plan.

Indonesia’s military said up to 8,000 troops could be ready by the end of June for possible deployment to Gaza under U.S. President Donald Trump’s postwar reconstruction plan, though a final political decision has yet to be made.

Army spokesperson Donny Pramono said about 1,000 personnel could be prepared as an advance team by April, with the rest ready by June after health checks and a readiness review.

He said readiness does not mean deployment, which depends on government approval and international mechanisms.

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry said any role would be strictly humanitarian, focusing on civilian protection, medical services and reconstruction, with no combat operations.

Indonesia would be the first country to formally commit troops to the security mission under Trump’s Board of Peace initiative.
