Loomer questions Nadella after Trump calls on Microsoft to fire Lisa Monaco.

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer has targeted Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella after US President Donald Trump publicly urged the tech giant to terminate Lisa Monaco, who joined the company earlier this year after serving as Deputy Attorney General during the Biden administration.

In a post on X, Loomer said she had alerted Trump to Monaco’s hiring and noted that the former president has since called for her removal. Directly addressing Nadella, she wrote, “@satyanadella, are you going to comply? Or continue to be two-faced? How dare you.”

US President Donald Trump on Friday demanded that Microsoft fire Lisa Monaco, who joined the company earlier this year after serving as deputy attorney general during the Biden administration. Writing on Truth Social, Trump described Monaco as “a menace to US National Security,” citing her access to sensitive government work and Microsoft’s extensive federal contracts.

“She is a menace to US National Security, especially given the major contracts that Microsoft has with the United States Government,” Trump posted to his 10 million followers. He claimed Monaco had been stripped of security clearances, denied access to intelligence, and barred from federal properties due to “wrongful acts.”

Microsoft declined to comment on the remarks. Monaco’s LinkedIn profile shows she joined the company in July. Her appointment resurfaced on Friday after Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo posted about it on X, linking to a University of Chicago law school article published the same month.

The criticism comes as Microsoft finds itself at the centre of politically sensitive developments. On Thursday, the company said it would cut off certain cloud and AI services to an Israeli military unit accused of storing surveillance data on Palestinians, following an internal investigation. Microsoft also recently agreed to $3.1 billion in cloud-service savings for U.S. agencies.

Monaco served as deputy attorney general in the Biden administration and as homeland security advisor in the Obama administration. According to her LinkedIn profile, she started her position as the head of Global Affairs at Microsoft in July.

On Thursday, Microsoft wrote in an email to employees that it had cut off certain cloud and AI services to a division of Israel’s Ministry of Defense, following employee protests and an internal probe into reports that Israel built a system to track Palestinians’ phone calls.

In the publicly available blog post published Thursday, Microsoft reiterated its principles that it does not provide technology to “facilitate mass surveillance of civilians ” and that it would “respect and protect the privacy rights of our customers.”

According to a statement on the US General Services Administration website, earlier in September, Microsoft agreed to offer around $3.1 billion in savings over one year on cloud services used by government agencies.

Several weeks ago, Trump hosted tech CEOs, including current Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Microsoft cofounder and former CEO Bill Gates, at a White House dinner. Nadella thanked Trump and praised his leadership.

“I think that everything that you’re doing in terms of setting in place the platform where the rest of the world can not only use our technology, but trust our technology more than any other alternative is perhaps the most important issue, and you, and you and your policies are really helping a lot,” Nadella said. “So thank you very much.”

Microsoft declined to comment when reached by Business Insider.
