Manipur Police today disposed of over 332 kilograms of narcotics, including six kilograms of Heroin powder, at the Shija Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility at Lamdeng in Imphal West District. These narcotics were recovered during the War on Drugs campaign conducted by the Manipur Government.
Speaking to the media, DGP Manipur, Rajeev Singh, said that police have intensified drives to seize contraband and arrest offenders. He said that efforts are underway to trace wider networks, financiers and kingpins of drug smugglers.
The destroyed drugs include 6.001kg of heroin powder, 86.871kg of brown sugar, 22.128kg of WY tablets, 36.079kg of pseudoephedrine tablets, 181.687kg of ganja and 0.047kg of SP capsules.
Speaking in connection with the disposal, Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh said the incinerated drugs were seized during different raids across the state.
