Forty-five Indian pilgrims are feared dead in a bus crash that happened in Saudi Arabia on Monday (November 17, 2025).
The accident took place approximately 25 kilometres before reaching Medina. Official sources said there were 46 passengers on the bus, out of which, one passenger escaped and is undergoing treatment.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed shock over the incident and said that the government is in contact with the Indian Embassy in Riyadh after local media reported that Indian Umrah pilgrims were killed in the accident.
The officials were also ordered to contact the External Affairs Ministry and the Saudi Embassy to take immediate relief measures.

A control room has also been set up at Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi, in connection with the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia involving Indian pilgrims travelling from Mecca to Medina.
Senior officials at Telangana Bhavan are in direct contact with the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Efforts are underway to ascertain the full details of the accident and confirm how many individuals from Telangana were involved.
