Russia’s Foreign Ministry says Russia & Ukraine exchanged 200 prisoners of war each.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that Russia and Ukraine exchanged 200 prisoners of war each today and plan to swap another 300 prisoners tomorrow.

Despite little progress toward a peace agreement to end the four-year conflict, the two countries have continued to carry out periodic exchanges of prisoners of war and return the bodies of fallen soldiers.

Russia agreed to release two Ukrainian-Hungarian dual nationals captured while fighting for Ukraine, after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán appealed for their release during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said the US-Israeli war on Iran has put a pause on trilateral peace talks to end the war in Ukraine.
