Over the next few days, will be participating in climate change negotiations and putting forward India’s view on matters related to Adaptation, Climate Finance and other critical issues. COP30, the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference, is being held in Belém from November 10 to 21. The annual COP meetings serve as the world’s only multilateral decision-making platform on climate change, bringing together nearly every nation to negotiate global climate action.

According to the UN Climate Change Secretariat, COP gatherings are where countries agree on measures to confront the climate crisis — from keeping global temperature rise within 1.5°C to supporting vulnerable communities in adapting to climate impacts and advancing efforts toward net-zero emissions by 2050.

The upcoming conference will see heads of state, negotiators and representatives from UNFCCC member nations push forward collective climate goals. Business leaders, youth, scientists, Indigenous communities and civil society groups will also contribute perspectives and best practices to strengthen inclusive, global climate action.
