US. Dan Scavino to head White House Presidential Personnel Office.

US President Donald Trump has announced that Dan Scavino will head the White House Presidential Personnel Office, replacing Sergio Gor, who has now been appointed as the US Ambassador-designate to India.

Trump had nominated Sergio Gor in August to serve as the next US Ambassador to India. Dan Scavino is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff in Trump’s administration.

“I am pleased to announce that the great Dan Scavino, in addition to remaining Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, will head the White House Presidential Personnel Office, replacing Sergio Gor, who did a wonderful job in that position, and will now become the Ambassador to India.”

Mr. Scavino will be responsible for the selection and appointment of almost all positions in government, “a very big and important position”, Mr. Trump said.

“Congratulations Dan, you will do a fantastic job!!!” he added.

The Presidential Personnel Office oversees the selection process for presidential appointments and works to recruit candidates to serve the president in departments and agencies throughout the Executive Branch, according to the White House website.

As head of the Presidential Personnel Office, Scavino will oversee the recruitment and selection of individuals for senior roles across the Executive Branch. Trump described it as “a very big and important position” and offered high praise for Scavino’s appointment.

“Congratulations Dan, you will do a fantastic job!!!” the president added.

According to the White House, the Presidential Personnel Office is responsible for managing presidential appointments and identifying candidates to serve in leadership roles across various federal departments and agencies. Scavino, a long-time adviser to Trump, has held several key positions in the administration since its early days.

Gor, who arrived in New Delhi on October 10, said that he had a great series of meetings, including with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

“I had an incredible meeting with Prime Minister Modi. We discussed bilateral issues, including defence, trade and technology,” he said after meeting the prime minister.

“We also discussed the importance of critical minerals,” he said.

The US greatly values its relationship with India, Gor said, adding President Donald Trump considers PM Modi as a great and personal friend.
