US President Donald Trump has said that Pakistan is among the countries that have been actively testing nuclear weapons.
Speaking to a TV channel yesterday, Mr Trump claimed that Russia, China, North Korea, and Pakistan are conducting nuclear tests.
He said that the US will resume its own nuclear testing, citing recent tests by other countries. He argued that America should not be the only nation to stop testing when others are continuing with testing.
He claimed that the US possesses more nuclear weapons than any other country. He said that the US has discussed denuclearisation efforts with Russia and China.
Recently, Mr Trump announced the immediate resumption of nuclear weapons testing after more than 30 years, calling it appropriate, citing Russia’s recent trials of advanced nuclear-capable systems.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law terminating the already defunct plutonium disposal agreement with the US, which had been aimed at limiting the production of nuclear weapons-grade material.
