Bahrain has said Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones toward it and Kuwait, adding that the projectiles were intercepted. Country’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks and called on Iran to immediately halt strikes against its Gulf neighbours.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty, stating that Kuwait reserves the right to defend itself.
The statements were issued hours after the US military announced it had intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf Arab allies. In response, US forces reportedly struck several Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites.
The latest escalation comes as the Trump administration intensifies pressure on Iran to reach an agreement aimed at ending the conflict.
