Around 465 people were arrested and 45 cases were filed during anti-crime drives conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the Capital over the past 24 hours.
During the operations, police recovered a locally made one-shooter gun, one cartridge, two knives, 50 kilograms of cannabis, 299 yaba tablets and 23 bottles of foreign liquor.
Police also seized a pickup van, 11 mobile phones, a steel rod, five wooden stamps, two bottle caps, fuel paper and 4,500 taka in cash. One victim was also rescued during the drives.
The operations were carried out in different police station areas of Dhaka as part of the DMP’s regular anti-crime campaign.
Legal proceedings against those arrested are underway, police said.
