External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today called on Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and conveyed India’s support for a successful chairship of ASEAN.
He said India-Philippines cooperation under the aegis of the Strategic Partnership continues to diversify as the India-Philippines Plan of Action 2025-2029 is being implemented.
The External Affairs Minister met with his Netherlands counterpart Tom Berendsen on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit in Manila. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said the elevation of India-Netherlands ties to a Strategic Partnership has opened new avenues of cooperation, including in semiconductors, water resources, green hydrogen, health and culture.
Dr Jaishankar also met with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and congratulated him on his appointment. They agreed to build on the positive momentum generated through the recent India-UK FTA implementation, and work towards strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
The External Affairs Minister also met his Oman counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and exchanged perspectives on the recent developments in the Gulf region.
Dr Jaishankar also met with UNRWA Commissioner-General ad interim Christian Saunders and discussed India’s contributions and commitments made at the recent Donors Conference in health and capacity building.
