US President Donald Trump has urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to retaliate against Iran’s latest missile barrage, warning that it can jeopardise ongoing efforts to secure a peace deal.
Mr. Trump said, Iran’s missile strikes will not derail negotiations and called on Tehran to return to the negotiating table. His remarks came after Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel, marking the first Iranian missile attack since April ceasefire.
Mr. Trump said he expects an agreement to be signed very soon, stressing that Washington is close to reaching a deal. He warned that any further escalation could undermine the effort.
The US president also said Netanyahu would likely have to accept whatever agreement the United States ultimately reaches with Iran.
