Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Gul Hassan Hassan, has accused Pakistan of posing a threat to Afghanistan’s security and regional stability, alleging that Islamabad provides shelter and operational support to terrorist groups, including ISIS (Daesh).
Addressing a joint security conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Moscow, Hassan alleged that armed fighters had attempted to enter Afghanistan through Chitral into Badakhshan and Nuristan provinces in July and September.
He further claimed that Pakistani forces had supported the groups and carried out aerial bombardments and artillery attacks during the alleged incursions.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid accused Pakistani authorities of undermining negotiations and said that blaming Afghanistan would not resolve the two countries’ problems.
